About Me

Pronouns: She/Her

As a trauma-trained mental health clinician, I specialize in religious trauma and abuse, working with adults who have experienced harm in religious environments or other high-control groups. I help individuals heal from the damage of religious indoctrination, such as persistent feelings of shame and fear, identity confusion, low self-esteem, loss of purpose, matters of sexuality and gender, navigating the profound sense of loss and grief related to leaving a tight-knit community, and strained relationships with family and friends.

I also help people process the pain and betrayal associated with childhood physical or sexual abuse or neglect. Whether you are considering leaving your religious group or left long ago, it can be helpful to process your experience with a trusted professional. I take a holistic, customized approach to healing and help individuals explore themes of personal autonomy, authentic connection to self and others, curiosity, and purpose. I trust my clients and their ability for growth and right to self-determination.

What You Can Expect

Working with me, you can expect my approach to be conversational, gentle, and honest, built on a foundation of safety and trust. As the expert of your story, I will take your lead in what you would like to work on in therapy but may also ask questions about your family of origin, experience in fundamentalist religion or other high control groups, and history of abuse. Most importantly, we will explore the hopes and desires you have for your life and relationships, with the goal of helping you experience more peace in your life. I take a holistic, customized approach to healing and help individuals explore themes of personal autonomy, authentic connection to self and others, curiosity, and purpose. Take heart that healing from trauma and abuse is possible! In addition to traditional talk therapy, my treatment approach incorporates trauma theory, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic and embodiment techniques to support the regulation of your nervous system. I also offer low-cost eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help individuals alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. As a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), I am passionately committed to ongoing learning in the field of trauma and abuse treatment, continually incorporating evidence-based treatments into my practice.
